John's shugenja (sorcerer) character, Moto Gendo.
White is the color of death in mythical Rokugan, so
Gendo is the rokugani equivalent of a Goth Boy. Note also the Scorpion
Mon and Mask...they're going to get him into trouble someday. Not
that he isn't in enough trouble already. The fan is a powerful magic
item, with the seal of the Emperor Hantei engraved on it. Moto's horse
has been accused of being fat, since the Unicorn Clan rarely let their
good steeds go when someone's drummed out of the Clan. I'm very proud
of this portrait, it came out very moody and mysterious. Ink and Colored
Pencil, 8 1/2" x 11".
