Bestiary / Three HuntersFiona Lynn Zimmer3/20/2001 |

Acrylic. Actual size for this canvas: 24"x36". I started with a monochrome wash. When I had all the values exactly the way I wanted, I started applying transparent layers of color over it until I liked the result. The trees are Monterey Cypresses, taken from photos I took down around Big Sur. The big guy in the background is of course T-rex, the smaller guy is supposed to be a troodont, though I think his nose ended up a little short. if you look in the lower left you will see the third hunter, a lizard out looking for bugs. Who will be dinner for whom? Posters of this image are available in the Store. |
